After our session, I mentioned to Casie that I was looking for a few expectant mothers to do some birth photography sessions with to add to my portfolio. She seemed a little hesitant at first, after all you think "birth photography" and you assume this means pictures of those hidden places for all the world to see. After explaining what the experience really was and sending her all the info I had put together, she was all for it.
Sept 10, 2013 - Casie's at home talking on the phone and POP! Her water broke! She called me around 10pm to deliver the news. Around 1am I get the call from Mikey, she's in active labor. I think I was almost as excited as they were! She had been experiencing a great deal of pain so when I walked in, she had just received her epidural. At this point she was 4cm and a LOT happier. I was introduced to her mother, step father, and close family friend. She's such a lucky girl to have such a great support system. Then we played the waiting game...
About 3:30 I was going to take a break and let Casie get some rest. I figured with this being their first child, we may be here several hours. I watched her contractions on the monitor and they were irregular & not peeking at the top of the chart so I was sure she was still 4-6cm. I spoke to the nurse and she informed she was going to check her at 4:00am so I decided to wait until then. The nurse came in about 4:20 to check Casie's cervix and WALA! She's 10cm and ready to have a baby!! Boy was I wrong! She paged the DR and little miss Tinsley was on her way! Casie pushed for a whole two hours! Tinsley was being stubborn :) But the moment that bundle of joy entered this world she was one of the most precious babies I had ever seen!
7 days later... this beautiful angel gets prettier by the day...
